ATTENTION: The Reluctant Graduate Is Going Through a Rebrand!!!
(+ important dates and events to note on your calendar for next month!)
So today I finally sat down and did a social media marketing audit on my Substack, LinkedIn, and Bluesky…
…and my findings were less than ideal.
As you well know, The Reluctant Graduate started out as a newsletter on LinkedIn only, focusing specifically on life and career advice and insights for students and new graduates.
But, as with most things with me, it kind of got a little chubby, flabby, and, well, big.
I started discussing AI, technology, personal finance, pop culture, startups, entrepreneurship, marketing… and so on.
My mission statement is “to bring 2000+ Gen Z, Alpha, and Millennial men and women in technology actionable insights and an outsider's perspective into the evolving tech ecosystem.”
But the systems I had in place to ensure that this mission became a reality were flawed.
So I’m doing a reboot.
And because I believe in accountability and transparency, I’m going to share the short version of my content schedule, some events slated for the rest of the month and beyond, and important updates.
Tuesdays: Tuesday in Tech (free) —this is an new and improved version of my series previously on LinkedIn of the same name.
This will feature a famous and unsung historical figure (particularly non-white, women and LGBTQ+) that changed the face of technology and engineering forever.
This will be a weekly Substack live at 12:00PM Eastern Time.
Wednesdays: Wednesday Write-Up (paid, starting February) —this one will fall into two categories:
Bold Start—first and third Wednesday of the month; articles and actionable guides with founders and entrepreneurs in mind. Think marketing tips for busy solopreneurs, SEO optimization for creative writers, and pitch deck essentials for new founders.
Pitch and Flow—second and fourth Wednesday of the month; interactive challenges, hackathons and reader submissions showcased on The Reluctant Graduate newsletter.
All articles and videos posted by end of day Wednesday (11:59 PM Eastern Time).
Thursdays: Behind the Beta (paid)—weekly tech and startup series spotlighting Black, Latino and indigenous voices, especially women, through exclusive content and community-building.
I first did this interview with Nicolas Robles of Gepeto AI.
Expect the unexpected with this series!
Friday: Commas, Not Periods—personal finance tips from a former business school student.
Some previous articles:
Saturdays: Weekly Recap (free)— A summary for your email every Saturday going over what happened on The Reluctant Graduate that particular week.
Sunday: Soul Sunday (free)—Weekly Q+A Substack live where I answer your questions, chat about the day, and anything else that comes to mind.
Again, expect the unexpected with this one!
Now on to the events (yay!)
